Britain's most evil killers offered meat-free roasts and vegan sausage rolls on Christmas Day

BRITAIN’S most evil killers were offered meat-free roasts, salads and vegan sausage rolls on Christmas Day.

Plant-based options were on the menu along with traditional turkey and all the trimmings for lifers at top-security Frankland prison.

The calorie-busting day for the inmates — including child murderers Ian Huntley and Levi Bellfield plus killer cop Wayne Couzens — began with a choice of cereal before the full festive lunch followed by Christmas pudding and sauce or fruit cocktail.

The same menu will be served to lags on New Year’s Day.

Choices at tea time included a vegan pasty, tuna mayo roll or chicken pasta salad.

Yesterday, inmates at the County Durham jail were allowed to choose between a bacon chop or veggie sausages.

Meanwhile, lags at West Yorkshire’s Wakefield prison — dubbed Monster Mansion — could tuck into mushroom and spinach kiev or a wellington slice.

All mains came with roast potatoes, sprouts, carrots and gravy.
