Baby P’s evil stepdad has parole bid DENIED again for refusing to confront his warped crimes | The Sun

BABY P's evil stepdad has had his parole bid denied again for refusing to confront his warped crimes.

Steven Barker has spent 13 years in prison for causing the toddler's death and raping a two-year-old girl.

The Nazi-worshipping torturer has made four applications to walk free – or at least secure a move to a cushier open jail – since 2017, but each time he has been denied.

He this week made another bid for freedom, but a Parole Board decided he must stay put in a high-security jail.

The panel, after hearing from his probation officer and psychologists, deemed Barker had not made sufficient progress.

He has refused to take part in "offence-focused interventions" and therefore remains a threat.

A Parole Board spokesperson said: “Protecting the public is our number one priority.”

Experts did, however, admit Barker's behaviour behind bars had been "exemplary".

Barker, the last of the trio who caused 17-month-old Peter Connelly's death in 2007 still to be serving their original sentence, will be eligible for another parole review "in due course".

Mum Tracey Connelly, 39, was freed in 2013 but was thrown back in jail after breaching her licence conditions.
