Baby boy killed and woman fighting for life after horror car and lorry crash in North Wales – The Sun

A BABY was killed and a woman left fighting for life after a horror crash between a car and lorry in North Wales.

The 21-month-old boy died after the the collision between a Ford Mondeo and a lorry on the A55 near Gwalchmai on Anglesey on Sunday afternoon.

He was rushed to hospital but tragically died just after leaving the scene about 2pm.

North Wales Police today confirmed the woman, who was the front seat passenger, was rushed to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

She has since been transferred to a hospital in Stoke and is described as being in a critical condition.

The male driver was uninjured.

Inspector Gareth Jones of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly this is being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our heartfelt sympathies remain with the baby boy’s family at this incredibly difficult time.

“The investigation is currently underway and we are appealing to anybody who may have witnesses the collision, or who may have seen either vehicle shortly before 2pm to contact us.”

The road was closed and re-opened shortly before 9pm.
