You season 2: Love Quinn killed her husband after he made devastating admission?

The second season of You saw Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) move to Los Angeles to start a new life after his ex Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers) returned to New York from the dead and promised to expose his murderous ways. Fortunately, Joe met Love Quinn at the store where he works and the pair fell in love. However, it looks like she might be as deadly as Candace.

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from You season 2.

When Love and Joe first began to hang out, she revealed she had something to tell him.

Of course Joe already knew she was married after he stalked his new love interest on social media.

He wasn’t however, expecting Love to reveal she was a widow and her husband James had died about a year before.

Love explained her husband was sick and in the books the Netflix series is based on, James has cancer.

However there were quite a few changes from the book and the TV show so fans think something more sinister is at play.

In fact, one fan believes Love killed her husband after he told her they weren’t ready to start a family together.

Fans of the series know Love goes on to fall pregnant with Joe’s child – or at least she claims it is his child – and moves to the suburbs with him.

If Love hadn’t become pregnant and Joe turned against her, could he have faced the same fate as James?

One Reddit user theorised: “Since it turned out Love is a sociopath as well, are we sure her husband was actually sick?

“I wanted to find out if she’d stalked him too and if she killed him off but made it look like he was “sick” (after all, she does have “infinite resources”).

“Maybe because he didn’t want to start a family with her”

They continued: “Just fan speculation on my part, I wish we’d had some flashbacks to her and James at some point after finding out she was crazy.

“I don’t believe she had a super healthy relationship and marriage but then stalked Joe. There must have been something up with James too.”

Another fan agreed to the theory, adding: “I agree with you. It matches the show’s goal to have her mirror Joe and the mysterious, unexplained disappearances of people around them.

  • You season 2: Who killed Delilah in You season 2?

“For Joe, the equivalent would be Mooney or Candace’s brother – someone who Joe did not say he murdered but their deaths seem too convenient given his proximity.

“I could see her slowly poisoning him as something that “had to be done” in order to protect her dream of a future family or b/c of some bs about him not understanding her.

“She could be sad but still a killer, just like Joe with Beck.”
