Who is Leanne Mya? The Grenfell survivor who wowed Britain's Got Talent 2019 judges

BRITAIN'S Got Talent is set to get emotional when it returns to our screens tonight.

But just who is  Grenfell Survivor Leanne Mya? And when will she be on BGT? Here's what we know…

Who is Leanne Mya?

Leanne is a singer from London.

She lived in the doomed Grenfell Tower block with her young son at the time of the fateful fire.

Leanne gave evidence at the inquiry into the disaster, which killed 72 people in June 2017.

What has happened so far to Leanne on Britain's Got Talent?

In April 2019 Leanne wowed the BGT judges with her cover of Sam Smith’s Lay Me Down in the initial audition round of the competition.

At the London Palladium Simon Cowell called it a “moment with a capital ‘M’”, while Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden fought back tears.

Simon told Leanne, who was clearly nervous: “You should be very proud.

“It’s really important what you just did because it’s easy to forget something like that with everything that’s going on in the world.

“For everyone who lost their lives and had all this crap thrown at them, you’ve had the courage to come out here and pay tribute. You did something very special for them and for you.

“That’s what I call a moment with a capital ‘M’.”

Amanda added: “You were so terrified and so nervous but you delivered that song and it was effortless. You have a massive future ahead of you, that was stunning.”

Her performance has won her a place in TONIGHT'S (May 31, 2019) semi-final from 7.30pm on ITV.

When is the Britain's Got Talent final?

The final is THIS SUNDAY (June 2).

The show goes out at 7.30pm on ITV.

The winner will be announced just before The News at 10.05pm.

You can then switch over to ITV2 to watch Britain's Got More Talent.
