When is Strictly Come Dancing 2018 on BBC One?

The 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight (Saturday, October 20) at 6.45pm on BBC One and will end at 8.35pm.

If you miss an episode, fear not! You can catch up on on BBC iPlayer after the live show.

Which celebrities are in the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 line-up?

The contestants for Strictly 2018 were confirmed one after another as the launch date neared.

They were revealed on TV shows such as The One Show and This Morning – or on the radio, such as the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Radio 2.

These are the stars competing in the 2018 edition:

Katie Piper – LEFT WEEK 3

Katie Piper became the first celebrity name confirmed for this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Katie, 34, is an English philanthropist, television presenter and former model from Andover, Hampshire.

The TV star, who shot to fame after filming a Channel 4 documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face, appeared on BBC Breakfast to announce she would be taking part.

Katie said: "I feel so privileged and excited to be part of my favourite show on TV.

"I already know how much of an amazing experience it will be for me and I can't wait to show my girls some of my new dance moves.

"I'm nervous to put on my dancing shoes but can't wait to learn a new skill and have the Strictly tan and makeover!"

Ashley Roberts

Ashley Roberts, 36, is a US singer and former member of the band The Pussycat Dolls – she quit the group in 2010.

The band started out as a girl dance troupe and evolved into a pop band.

But Ashley has defended her position on the show and hit back at claims that she's already a pro dancer.

Speaking to Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show she said: "The Latin and Ballroom world is foreign to me."

Faye Tozer

In August 2018 The Sun's Bizarre column exclusively revealed that Steps star Faye Tozer would be joining Strictly.

As well as learning choreography as part of her pop band in the 90s she also has dance experience from the West End.

But Faye has denied this will give her an advantage.

Speaking on The One Show she said: "I think you'll find a few of us have [dancing backgrounds].

“I have some experience but I don't have any ballroom experience.

"I can’t wait to have a man twirling me around the ballroom.”

Graeme Swann

On August 12, The Sun exclusively revealed the dad-of-two had signed up to Strictly Come Dancing.

On BBC Radio Two Graeme said: “It’s true – I’ve signed up for Strictly!

"I’m hoping to follow in the footsteps of the cricketers who’ve come before me who’ve either won the whole thing or had an absolute ball on the show.

“Keeping it under wraps from my kids has been nearly impossible; they are huge fans of the show and I can’t wait to see their faces when I tell them.

“I don’t have any background in dancing but can do the floss so let’s hope this comes in useful!”

Danny John Jules

On August 13, 2018, Red Dwarf star Danny John Jules was announced as the next star joining Strictly Come Dancing.

The 57-year-old actor, who also starred as Dwayne Myers in Death In Paradise, said he couldn’t wait to get started on the show and was looking forward to joining the line up.

But he's been hit by fix claims as it was revealed he is a trained dancer.

Joe Sugg

Zoella's YouTube star brother Joe Sugg has announced he has signed up for Strictly.

The 26-year-old is hoping to "launch into the mainstream".

Speaking about taking part, the star – who is the first YouTuber to get a coveted spot on the BBC show – said: "I'm honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year!

"Not going to lie, I'm very nervous about it, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about I guess."

Vick Hope

On August 15, 2018, Vick revealed she would be joining Strictly Come Dancing.

The DJ broke the news on her Capital Radio Breakfast Show.

She told co-host Roman Kemp she was ready to don her dance shoes with hope of bringing home the glitterball trophy.

Vick said: "I can reveal that every Saturday night I get to be close to Faye from Steps… I'm doing Strictly!"

She added: "I'm a fan of the show so I'm very honoured to be part of it. I love Strictly.

"I promise you I'm going to work so hard. I'm so excited."

Dr Ranj Singh

On August 16, 2018, Dr Ranj Singh was revealed as the next star to sign up to Strictly.

He started his career working with the NHS, and now he regularly bestows his wisdom to the viewers of This Morning as their resident doctor

Stacey Dooley

It was announced on August 16, 2018, that Stacey would be taking part in the dancing competition.

TV star Stacey Dooley said: “I'm so, so ready to embrace this and take to the dancefloor!"

Stacey's career as a documentary maker has seen her tackling a range of issues in documentaries including Face to Face With ISIS and Gypsy Kids Taken From Home.

Sean Walsh

Funny guy Sean Walsh will be trading in comedy for ballroom dancing, as he's confirmed he's signed on to Strictly 2018.

Talking on The One Show on August 17, Walsh said he was a little nervous, stating: “I've never done dancing like this. I think it'll be fine!”

Kate Silverton

Newsreader Kate Silverton has also been confirmed in this year's line-up.

Strictly fans eagerly await Kate's performances.

Lee Ryan – LEFT WEEK 2

On August 20, 2018, Lee Ryan announced on Loose Women that he would be on Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

He told the panel: “I was nervous even to say yes."

Lee added: "Have you ever seen a Blue concert? We lean! I am [nervous]."

Sadly for Lee, his time on the show ended in week two as he was voted off.

Lauren Steadman

Lauren, who won silver at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in para-triathlon, has been revealed as the 13th contestant to be joining this year's line-up.

She was a guest on The One Show on Monday, August 20 to announce her big news.

She shared: "I am a bit nervous, but I think you can revert back to dad dancing if it all goes wrong."

She also explained that she won't be using a prosthetic on the show, as she fears it will fly off during a spin.

Susannah Constantine – LEFT WEEK 1

The fashionista appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, August 21 to confirm the rumours and reveal that she was joining Strictly Come Dancing.

She explained how anxious she was about the whole thing saying: "I'm sick with nerves and jangling with excitement.

"I'm starting from a very low bar and that's fine, because I can only improve."

Susannah found fame in 2011 after co-hosting the show What Not to Wear alongside Trinny Woodall.

She also previously tried her hand at reality TV, appearing on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

She was the first celebrity voted off the show.

Charles Venn

The 45-year-old EastEnders actor is set to shimmy on screens this year as one of the Strictly contestants.

He appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Susannah Constantine to share the news.

When asked whether his background in performing arts would help him, he confessed: "A little bit. A little bit."
