The cast of Ugly Betty are once again talking about a possible revival.
In 2016, the show’s protagonist America Ferrara – who played Betty Suarez on the series, which ran from 2006 to 2010 – raised hopes of an Ugly Betty revival movie after revealing her own interest in bringing back the ABC show as a two-hour Hulu special.
And now more of the case have weighed in on plans to bring back the Mode gang.
Speaking last week, Michael Urie, who played Wilhelmina’s assistant Marc St James, revealed that he would do an Ugly Betty revival “in a minute”.
He told Vulture: “We all would. We loved each other so much and we loved it so much. We would absolutely do a revival and if you’re listening, ABC, please make it happen. You can make one of the characters a Trump supporter if [you] have to!”
Thankfully, Ferrera and Urie aren’t the only former Betty stars eyeing up a reunion.
Speaking at the same event, Vanessa Williams (who played Wilhelmina Slater) and Becki Newton (who played Amanda Tanen) revealed that they too would be game to return to their characters.
“Sure! Let’s see if it happens, but absolutely,” Williams said, while Newton simply added: “Yes, period!”
Ugly Betty ended with Betty moving to London to work for a progressive women’s magazine, and seemingly starting a romantic relationship with her former boss, Daniel Meade.
However, Ferrera has previously said she imagined her character would have eventually returned to Queens.
With shows such as Frasier also eyeing a revival, here’s hoping the old Mode gang and Suarez’s will soon get back together.
