Tipping Point viewers in uproar as teacher thinks Anne Frank is fictional character

Tipping Point viewers were far from impressed with contestant Steph yesterday evening after they heard her answer to one question. Host Ben was quizzing Steph and fellow player Pete when the history question popped up.

Ben asked: “In a classic novel by Johanna Spyri, what is the name of the orphan sent to love with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps?”

He added: “You can play this or you can pass it to Pete.”

Steph said she had an idea but wasn’t sure if she should pass the question to Pete.

However, she eventually decided to take a guess as she believed her competitor would know the answer.

Steph told Ben: “I don’t think this is right but I’m going to go with it because I think Pete knows it anyway.

“I’m going to go with Anne Frank.”

However, Pete said he would have offered Heidi with Steph nodding in agreement.

Steph wasn’t surprised when she got the answer wrong admitting it was the only name she could think of.

Viewers at home were far from impressed with Steph’s guess and took to Twitter to comment.

“A teacher thinks Anne Frank is a fictional character #tippingpoint …. I just despair,” one wrote.

Another added:”I actually am at a loss of words. How can someone who’s job is to teach children, not know about Anne Frank and think she is a fictional character in a book…? #tippingpoint.”

A third shared: “How the hell can u not know Anne Frank is a real person? #tippingpoint.”

Tipping Point often leaves those tuning in shocked with the turn of events.

However, one celebrity special left Ben in tears over his Good Morning Britain co-host’s win.

Laura Tobin went on to compete on the show in the hope of raising money for her chosen charity, Babies in Buscot Support.

The cause was close to her hears as her daughter Charlotte was born prematurely and cared for at the ward.

A stunned Laura added: “I can’t believe it, I’m speechless.”
