Among the many bizarre and unsettling moments from Netflix’s Tiger King true crime series is the song “Here Kitty Kitty,” which star Joe Exotic recorded and produced a music video for. The song–the lyrics of which reference a rumor that a certain person killed her husband and fed him to a tiger–was in fact written by the Clinton Johnson Band. Now, a bigger and more well-known band, The Offspring, have covered the tune as well.
The SoCal punk rock band behind “Self Esteem” and “The Kids Aren’t Alright” posted their cover on YouTube, and it’s a treat. Band members Dexter Holland and Kevin John Wasserman AKA “Noodles” take center stage, with drummer Pete Parada sitting in the back wearing a tiger suit. Each of the band members is placed at least six feet apart, to adhere to social distancing rules.
Multiple people dressed in cat suits enter the video and dance around, adding a further level of wackiness to the piece, while the video also cuts away to a person in a tiger suit skateboarding down the streets of a southern California town.
The band says their wives inspired them to release this video. “The Offspring wives were group texting recently, and while they all agreed that they truly love their husbands, there are times when they’ve absolutely felt like feeding us to the tigers,” the band said. “In that spirit, we hope you enjoy this random song & video.”

Tiger King debuted on Netflix in March and quickly became one of the network’s most popular originals in 2020. It’s not the most popular new project from Netflix this year, however, as that record goes to the Mark Wahlberg movie Spenser Confidential.
