A 'barking' guest spoke to a tree on today's This Morning – and the sound man was given a humiliating job.
Author Holly Worton claimed to be able to connect with the plants after getting the idea to write a book, called 'If trees could talk', from a yew tree.
Speaking to a tree planted by Alison Hammond, she said: "What the tree wants to say is thank you, above all, for including the trees on the show.
"It's so important for them to have people, connect with nature, connect with them, and build all the green things we have in our woodlands, gardens and all around us."
While they were having a conversation, Eamonn Holmes wrapped his arms around another tree.
Holly explained that someone suggested she try talking to trees as she already spent a lot of time out in nature.
She revealed that she could hear the tree's voice and it had a British accent with a male voice.
Holly said: "I like to touch the tree, make a physical connection with it and just ask it a question and wait for the answer."
Eamonn asked: "Tree, Rochelle was cold out here, are you cold? You're out here all the time."
The presenter couldn't make a connection but Holly revealed that the tree said he didn't feel the chills.
As they tried to speak to the tree, sound man Elliott rushed over to put his microphone up against the bark.
This Morning viewers took to Twitter after watching the hilarious scenes.
One viewer said: "Laughing my head off at the sound guy running over on #thismorning"
"Someone give the sound man trying to hear a tree on #ThisMorning a BAFTA…," added another.
A third said: "The sound man nearly wet himself, putting the microphone near the tree"
*This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am
