The Walking Dead has seen both Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) suffer greatly after Alpha (Samantha Morton) brutally killed their adopted son Henry (Matt Lintz) in the season nine finale. Now it seems Ezekiel’s life could be in danger.
The latest instalment of The Walking Dead saw Ezekiel finally open up about how he had been feeling after Henry’s death.
The fourth episode of the series titled Silence The Whisperers saw him seek comfort in Michonne (Danai Gurira) after battling depression.
Things seemed to be going in the right direction for him after the pair shared a long awaited kiss.
However, it seems the character may not be able to bounce back from the damage done in the forest fire.

By the end of the episode, it had become clear that the fan-favourite had inhaled a dangerous amount of smoke.
Struggling with a deadly sounding cough, it’s clear his health has been affected by the ordeal.
Now, it seems he won’t be bouncing back in the way fans may expect after Khary Payton, who plays Ezekiel in the AMC hit spoke out about his character’s fate.
Speaking to Comicbook.com the star explained: “Something horrible is about to happen.
“I mean, what are you talking about man? You know the show that you’re dealing with.”
Could Sunday’s episode five see yet another tragic character arc unfold?
The fifth episode, titled What It Always Is will see Ezekiel, along with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Siddiq (Avi Nash), attempting to salvage wreckage from a brutal walker attack.
The teaser text for the upcoming episode reads: “Supplies go missing from Hilltop; Negan is idolized by an Alexandrian; Ezekiel holds a secret.”

It seems he certainly won’t be resting after his ordeal as he is seen asking after the whereabouts of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) who recently escaped jail.
This comes as the group realises the extent of Hilltop’s missing supplies.

The trailer for the new episode also dropped hints that Negan could be the one to kill Alpha.
With the introduction of Brandon (Blaine Kern III) it seems showrunners are lining up to follow the character’s comic book storyline that sees Brandon lead Negan to the Whisperer’s.
Could Negan be the one to kill Alpha in a bid to gain the trust of the Alexandrians?
