The One Show returned to BBC One tonight with Matt Baker and Angela Scanlon hosting, and they were joined by Piers Morgan as today’s guest on the green sofa.
After a brief introduction, Matt turned the conversation to Piers’ presence online: “You’re so prolific on social media Piers.
“Seriously, how do you cope with the fall out you generate and you create, you know when you close the door at the end of the day, how does it affect you?
“Well today for example,” the journalist replied. “Everyone’s raving about Game of Thrones right. I think Game of Thrones is just unwatchable biltch -“
“From the beginning? Or just the last episode,” Angela interjected.
“I’ve only watched about ten minutes of it! But it was relentless, ten minutes of bilch. It was ten minutes of the finale when there was this weirdy-beardy guy comes in, then there’s a big dragon, right and then the weirdy-beardy kisses the woman he supposedly loves his Queen and whilst he’s kissing her…” Piers replied.
“Shhh…don’t! Are you kidding me?” Angela exclaimed. “Stop it! Never mind, move on.”
“I’ve written a column today saying I think it’s unwatchable garbage and you might say that’s provocative, I say it’s honest opinion!” The Good Morning Britain presenter argued.
“Yes, but it’s a spoiler!” Angela commented as Piers replied: “This spoiler thing annoys me too.”
“Shut your pie hole! Shut your pie hole,” Angela shouted warning him not to spoil anything for viewers.
“It aired two nights ago! How long do we have to wait before we cease to be spoilers!” Piers remarked.
“I mean a week,” Angela replied. “Give it a week.”
Yesterday’s BBC One viewers were unable to watch The One Show as it was cancelled.
Due to the Chelsea Flower Show taking place this week, the chat show was taken off air to make way for it
Earlier in the week, original host Alex Jones rang into the show to tell her co-star Matt the name she had chosen for her newborn baby.
After taking maternity leave from The One Show last month, she explained to viewers she had given birth to a boy and herself and husband Charlie Thomson were calling him Kit Thomson.
Replying to the good news, Matt said: “Al, we’re sending you all our love from all the family, and it’s lovely to hear your voice.
“We’re missing you,” he added, getting emotional.
Alex replied: “Well, it’s lovely to speak to you. I miss you too. But as you can imagine, hands are quite full here!”
The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
