The Flash (played by Grant Gustin) was entirely shocked when Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) arrived in the beginning of season five.
And to make things even more complicated, Nora revealed she was in fact Barry’s daughter from the future.
The latest episode of the show – Godspeed – showcased Nora’s journey from regular CSI officer to speedster.
But fans of the show may not have noticed the parallels which were displayed between her first foray as a superhero, and her father’s.
This even includes the way both Nora’s episode and Barry’s episodes are structured.
In The Flash’s pilot episode Barry begins the show by being late to work – which Nora follows suit.
The Flash then loses control of his speed during his first venture into being a superhero, launching him into the back of a laundry vehicle – Gambi Cleaners.
Nora makes this same mistake, and fires herself at a laundry vehicle as well, but this time it is titled Gambi & Sons.
She is also later mentored by Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) who originally mentored Barry back in season one.
This is even showcased further during Nora’s first attempt at phasing through concrete, in which Reverse Flash uses almost the exact same words to convince her she can do it.
Unfortunately for Nora, the final note of the episode shows her being shunned by her father after the truth about her collusion with the Reverse Flash came out.
While Nora has been shown to be almost identical to Barry throughout her own journey, could this moment send her into a darker path?
Cicada (Chris Klein) is not much of a problem in the show anymore – could Nora take over as this season’s bad guy?
Meanwhile, it seems as if Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker) will be getting a brand new suit in the upcoming sixth season of the show.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly she explained: “I want a new suit.
“The Season four suit was different than the Season three suit and I want a new suit, absolutely.
“Killer Frost is a little bit like Vibe in that she, and like most of the superheroes, that she has to go somewhere to put her suit on, Flash has to put his suit on.
“So, I’m excited to see what her suit looks like whenever she gets it.”
But will this suit change follow a personality change for the cold doctor?
The Flash season five returns Tuesday on The CW.
