Rejoice, fans of innovate sketch comedy shows, as The Fast Show might be coming back for a 25th anniversary special.
Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester, cast member John Thomson said: “We’re hoping to do a special, which is very exciting. You heard it first here. We’re in talks, as they say.”
The show began on BBC Two in September 1994, so hopefully they can get an anniversary special together in time for the actual anniversary month.
The last time the cast worked together was in 2011 for a series of videos for Foster’s lager, of all things. Those videos were then compiled into a 20th anniversary special called The Fast Show Special on BBC Two.
The iconic comedy also featured the likes of Paul Whitehouse, Charlie Higson, Simon Day, Mark Williams and Arabella Weir.
Cast member and comedy icon Caroline Aherne sadly passed away in July 2016 from lung cancer, and was laid to rest in a private funeral.
John Thomson was on Radio Manchester to help promote the Children in Need Extravaganza, hosted by the station’s Mike Sweeney. The event will feature live music and comedy to raise money for charity, and you can get tickets here.
If you fancy binge-watching the classic series, you can buy the 7-disc DVD boxset, The Fast Show: Ultimate Collection, on Amazon.
