Another day, another reboot. In the age where TV revivals and reboots are starting to dominate the small screen, it’s not suprising that another reboot is being developed. A new report suggests that a “The 4400” reboot is currently in the works at The CW.

The planned reboot is said to be hailing from CBS Television Studios, which produced the original series. Executive producers Taylor Elmore (“Limitless“, “Justified“) and Craig Sweeny (“Star Trek: Discovery“) will shepherd the project as well as co-write the pilot. Additionally, Elmore will serve as showrunner if the show moves forward on the network.

The official logline of the new project reads, “Over the course of recent history, 4,400 young adults in their reproductive prime have gone missing all over the world — some disappearances happened as recently as a few weeks ago, while others date as far back as the infamous day the Soviets launched the Sputnik satellite in 1957. One day in 2019, all 4,400 show up at the sites of their original abductions.”

“None of them have aged a day; none have any memory of where they’ve been. The so called ‘4400’ must grapple with their return to a changed and hostile world… and also contend with the reality that they’ve come back altered in ways that none of them yet understand,” it continues.

Created by Rene Echevarria and Scott Peters, the original “The 4400” aired as a five-episode miniseries in 2004 on USA Network. The series then raised to popularity, prompting the network to order three more seasons of 13 episodes each. It starred Joel Gretsch, Jacqueline McKenzie, Conchita Campbell and Mahershala Ali.

The news arrives after the network announced its plan to bring back “Roswell” in a reboot in 2019. Recently, The CW also launched a reboot of “Charmed”.
