The Circle finale saw everything finally come to a head last night (October 8).
In a double-whammy, Alex/Kate was named the most popular player in the game (probably thanks to Dan’s very generous final rating) as well as the public’s champion, walking away with a tidy £75k prize.
It’s fair to say that Alex/Kate was overwhelmed by the whole thing, but it probably felt a little bittersweet considering the highly anticipated face-to-face meet with his closest friend in The Circle didn’t really go very well.
In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy earlier today (October 9), Alex revealed that it was “heartbreaking” to see Dan so upset in discovering that he was a catfish on the show.
Now, Dan has admitted that he doesn’t know what the future might hold for his friendship with the winning player.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Dan revealed that he’s “not sure” about whether or not he’d like to have a more in-depth chat with Alex about the whole catfish situation.
“I get the impression that Alex is more keen to have that conversation,” he confessed.
Dan did also say that he’s not watched any of the episodes back yet, so perhaps he’ll feel differently after seeing some more clips.
But one person that he is keen on continuing his friendship with is fellow finalist Sian.
“100%, she’ll be a friend for life,” Dan told Digital Spy, before adding: “I can’t believe she’s 20 years old, it doesn’t make any sense… She has such a good head on her shoulders.”
Reflecting on his time on The Circle, he said that he probably won’t change his social media habits back in the real world – although he did joke that, going forward, he’ll “be a lot more cautious”.
The Circle Uncovered airs on October 16 at 10:25pm on Channel 4
