We’re currently in the dizzy days of summer between the end of Love Island and before the start of The X Factor, which can mean only one thing.
It’s time for a documentary about literary giant Sylvia Plath, who died by suicide in 1963 aged just 30.
Yes, BBC Two opted to show new doc Sylvia Plath – Inside The Bell Jar on a Saturday night in the middle of summer and it went down incredibly well.
Given how well-loved Plath’s work is, there was a lot of anticipation and expectation for the film, which was co-narrated by Hollywood star Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Though many did acknowledge how out-of-keeping the programming felt against most Saturday night telly.
But generally, nearly every single one of you absolutely loved it.
Okay, there was a little bit of criticism, but really not that much given how divisive most Saturday night TV can be.
If you missed it, you can of course catch up on iPlayer for the next 30 days.
And of course, the Sylvia Plathbots were out in force, letting the woman’s word’s speak for her.
Even if a couple did occasionally go somewhat off-message…
