Sylvester Stallone gives first Rambo 5 look and he's a cowboy now, apparently

Sylvester Stallone’s return in Rambo V definitely is not what we expected, at least going by this first look.

Sly has unveiled the first pictures from the upcoming sequel, and it appears he’s gone all wild west on us. Because why not?

The actor posted an Instagram picture of himself in cowboy get-up (sans long hair) and revealed that he has just started filming the movie.

It comes a few months after Sly posted a teasy picture of Rambo – this time including his iconic hair and headband – with the comment: “A SAVAGE RISING.”

Despite the teasers, no other concrete details have emerged about the next Rambo movie, though it looks like it may be a gritty affair.

His return to the role comes a few years after the actor vowed never to revive the character, citing the fact that his body needed a bit of a break.

“The heart’s willing, but the body says, ‘Stay home!’,” he explained. “It’s like fighters that go back for one last round and get clobbered. Leave it to someone else.”

Well, when in doubt, return as a cowboy.

Sly is also gearing up for a sequel to another one of his iconic characters, Rocky Balboa, with the release of Creed II next year.

Rambo V is due to be released in 2019.
