Good Morning Britain: Susanna Reid confirms she’s taking half-term off
Susanna Reid is a permanent fixture on the ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain and delivers the days most pressing news headlines.
However, on Wednesday morning she revealed she would be taking a break from the show over the half-term break.
Whilst having a chat with entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold, Susanna confirmed that she would be gone from the GMB panel for 10 days.
Richard spoke about his time interviewing Melissa McCarthy and Javier Bardem about their roles in the remake of The Little Mermaid.
After a joke was made about Nick Cannon and his 12 children, Richard explained: “Nick Cannon of course just in case you didn’t understand that reference has 12 children.
“Which is quite the litter, you have got to get up quite early for that.”
However, trying to get in her news about having time off, Susanna quipped: “Or go to bed very late.”
Richard teased: “Oh look at you, someone is going on half-term,” before she confirmed: “Yes. I can confirm I am off today, leaving it in your capable hands. No more interruptions.”
However, it didn’t take long for Susanna to interrupt Richard again where she added: “It’s ok, you won’t have this for the next 10 days.”

Susanna isn’t the only ITV presenter who will be taking a break during the half-term with Lorraine Kelly and Holly Willoughby also being absent from their shows next week.
There has been no word as to who will take Susanna’s place, but Ranvir Singh and Charlotte Hawkins have previously stepped in.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have stepped in for Holly over on This Morning, with Christine Lampard and Carol Vorderman often stepping in for Lorraine.
Susanna and Richard are known for their comical interactions, but she was left baffled by his jokes on Tuesday morning.
Discussing the prospect of One Direction having a reunion and ending their seven-year hiatus, Susanna couldn’t contain her excitement.
Richard quickly told her to “cool your sheets” which left the TV star confused and concerned he had said something inappropriate.
The phrase is best known and attributed to Robin Williams’s classic character Mrs Doubtfire, leaving Richard having to explain his joke.
He quickly moved on from the awkward moment and explained that a Whatsapp group had been made with all five members of the band.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
