Strictly Come Dancing's Susannah Constantine blasts "bollocks" reports of a backstage tantrum

Susannah Constantine became the unfortunate first celebrity to be voted off this series of Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday night (September 30).

However, the fashion expert has hit back at reports claiming that she ‘flew into a rage’ backstage after learning the result.

Posting a screenshot of a tabloid headline claiming the incident on her Instagram page, Susannah simply commented: “Bollocks, bollocks and more bollocks @bbcstrictly”.

Well, we think that settles that.

In a separate clip, Susannah admitted that it was “pretty bloody horrible” going out of the competition first, though said her place at the bottom was “deserved”.

Susannah and partner Anton Du Beke became the first couple to be voted off, after facing Lee Ryan and Nadiya Bychkova in the dreaded dance-off.

The pair’s foxtrot to ‘They Can’t Take That Away From Me’ failed to impress the judges, who unanimously saved Lee and Nadiya.

Afterwards, Susannah said she was “so lucky”, and admitted the judges “made the right choice”.

“I know it has gone a bit quick, but you know what, I just feel so lucky to have had three weeks learning to dance with Anton and to have met all these amazing people,” she said.

“And for me they are the most important and I feel really privileged to have met them all, and it has been amazing. And thank you [judges], you’ve made the right choice you guys, Lee and Nadiya were brilliant but Anton is still the king!”

However, some viewers at home have blamed Anton for the couple getting the boot so soon, accusing him of turning Susannah into the comedy act.

Strictly Come Dancing continues with Movie Week next Saturday (October 6) at 6.30pm on BBC One, with the results show airing on Sunday (October 7) at 7.45pm – right after the new episode of Doctor Who.
