TELEVISION presenter Karim Zeroual has been announced to compete in this year’s latest Sport Relief challenge.
The CBBC host, 26, is just one of many celebrities who will take part in the gruelling challenge, named Sport Relief: On Thin Ice.
The feat will see Karim attempt to complete a 100-mile triathlon on foot, by bike, and also on skates, across a frozen lake, in Mongolia.
The A-list line-up includes Radio DJ Nick Grimshaw, 35, singer, Frankie Bridge, 31, and journalists, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, 49, and Louise Minchin, 51.
Also joining them is barrister and TV personality, Rob Rinder, 41, and actress, Samantha Womack, 47.
The celebrity team will be attempting almost a marathon a day, across the ice of Lake Khovsgol in freezing temperatures, dropping as low as -35 degrees Celsius.
They will aim to raise money to help improve life-changing mental health services and support many other projects tackling issues such as domestic abuse, homelessness and child poverty.
All of the action will be filmed for a BBC One documentary which will air on the week of Sport Relief, which is set to hit screens on Friday 13th March.
Speaking ahead of the triathlon, Karim said: “I’m a yes man and I love taking on challenges and being able to support people.
"Mental health problems can affect all ages and all genders."
He continued: "I struggled with it growing up and your mental health needs to be just as strong as your physical health.”
He continued: “I can’t express how much I despise the cold, and I know I have a shock coming to me but we’ve got a great team of celebs going out there.
“We’re going do our absolute level best to help raise money for this amazing charity that I’m honoured and humbled to be involved with.
"I’m sure our strength will keep us going.”
