You may have noticed that there’s a new judge on the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel tonight (October 20).
Alfonso Ribeiro – best known for his role as The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air‘s Carlton Banks – has taken Bruno Tonioli’s spot for the week, as the Italian panellist is busy with Strictly‘s US counterpart Dancing With The Stars.
But it almost felt as though Bruno was still in the room (despite the actor promising that he wouldn’t be like the judge during his stint) as Alfonso gave his feedback to Dr Ranj Singh and partner Janette Manrara, who were the first to perform.
Alfonso pulled out one very lifelike impression, complete with Bruno’s famous accent and totally wild hand movements.
Viewers seemed to find the move hilarious, with one tweet reading: “LOVED @alfonso_ribeiro’s Bruno impression!”
Others wrote: “I live for Alfonso’s Bruno impression,” and: “A FAB-U-LOUS Bruno impression.”
One fan even called it “spot on”.
The only thing missing was a dramatic fall of his chair.
Alfonso is no stranger to dance, as he made his own ‘Carlton’ dance famous while starring as Carlton on Fresh Prince.
He wowed crowds with the move on Dancing With The Stars, winning the 2014 season with partner Witney Carson.
So far, Strictly fans seem to be enjoying his presence on the show.
One tweet read: “Loving Alfonso as a judge. Right amount of enthusiasm, encouragement and observation. He knows when to shut up too, which is always a bonus.”
Another said: “@bbcstrictly when voting opens what number do I call to keep @alfonso_ribeiro on the show?”
We’re just hoping he makes time for a quick rendition of the ‘Carlton’ dance before the end…
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One.
