Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) has had an incredibly difficult few months in Hollyoaks, after she found herself the victim of a horrifying shooting following the truth about her involvement in the hit-and-run having come to light. However, the struggle is far from over for The Dog landlady, as she begins to fear for her safety once more — all the while being plagued with flashbacks.
With a lot on her mind, Mercedes can’t help but recall the night in which she was shot — and as she does so, a montage plays, which highlights a series of different outcomes. In the montage, Sylver (David Tag), Liam (Jude Monk McGowan) and Diane (Alex Fletcher) can all be seen holding the gun — each of them preparing to take the shot.
Mercedes comes back to the present as Bobby slams the door, and he begs her to allow him to visit Sylver in prison. However, Mercedes refuses, and thus Bobby proceeds to tell her that he hates her.
Later in the week, another montage plays — only this time, it’s Breda (Moya Brady) and Grace (Tamara Wall) that feature, as they take hold of the gun which fired the shot.
Meanwhile, Sylver contacts Mercedes, and reveals to her that he’s still in love with her, before begging her to retract her statement. Whether she does or not remains to be seen, but that’s the least of her troubles, as Liam (Jude Monk McGowan) wants to smash up The Dog in an attempt to scare her.
With Mercy unable to think about anything else except the night she was shot, she fears for her safety — and worries that nobody will keep her safe.
Later, there’s another montage, and this time, it’s Liam, Grace, Sylver and James who all pick up the gun.
Mercedes’ fear is no doubt warranted after everything that she’s been through, but will the truth about who shot her finally come to light as a result?
One to watch: Tuesday 19thDecember at 7pm on E4.
