Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been struggling tremendously in EastEnders as of late, and as a result she’s sought solace in alcohol. Mick (Danny Dyer) has been incredibly worried about her, and in the coming episodes this worry increases, and thus he attempts to orchestrate a solution.
Linda’s been through a lot over the past couple of months. From worrying about Mick’s panic attacks, to fearing that her cancer had to returned, not to mention worrying about Ollie settling in at school — hence the effort she’s went to in order to befriend the mums —it’s been a difficult time for her, and she’s turned to drink to escape these pressures.
In the coming episodes, Mick begins to fear that Linda’s relying on alcohol too much, and thus he comes up with a plan. Yes, he suggests a Christmas detox, and Linda’s not too keen on the idea, but she agrees nonetheless.
With worries about Ollie not far from their mind, Mick attempts to orchestrate a plan to help the young boy settle in better at school. However, Miss Gardiner overhears the Queen Vic landlord’s plan, and thus he’s forced to defend his actions.
However, Miss Gardiner reveals some surprising news, and Mick and Linda are overjoyed as a result.
in spite of his happiness, Mick soon loses his smile when he realises that Linda has been drinking. Linda does her best to reassure Mick that nothing’s wrong, and Mitch (Roger Griffiths) offers him some advice as a result.
Mick thinks on Mitch’s words, and — in the end — he pours Linda a drink so that they can raise their glass and toast Ollie.
Will Mick realise just how reliant on alcohol Linda is becoming?
What’s more, will Linda seek the help that she needs?
One to watch: Monday 2nd December at 8pm on BBC One.
