Fans of “Silicon Valley” have to wait a little bit longer for another season to come. The HBO comedy is reportedly having a production delay, resulting to it remaining off-air longer than expected.

As for the reason, a representative of the series has revealed to TVLine that the postponement has something to do with Bill Hader-starring dark comedy “Barry“. The rep reveals that executive producer Alec Berg’s busy schedule is the reason behind the delay. “As Alec is a showrunner on both ‘Barry’ and ‘Silicon Valley’,” the rep shares. “The schedule was structured to allow Alec to wrap on ‘Barry’ before starting work on ‘Silicon Valley’.”

The news arrives amid rumors that the forthcoming sixth season will the last hurrah for “Silicon Valey”. While an HBO insider insisting that no final decision has been made on that matter, EP Berg previously hinted that the show’s end was likely coming closer.

“I can’t say we have [a specific end date] in mind, but we definitely for the first time are starting to talk about, ‘How long do you think this will continue…?’ ” he said. “There is no definitive plan [to conclude the series], but we’re starting to think that maybe there are less shows left than there are in the can.”

Starring Thomas Middleditch, Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods and Amanda Crew, “Silicon Valley” is about five young men who founded a startup company in Silicon Valley. The comedy premiered on April 6, 2014 on HBO with the latest fifth episode wrapping up its story on May 13.
