Silent Witness: Major death confirmed as Thomas Chamberlain star drops big clue?

The latest two-parter in the hit BBC drama Silent Witness saw the Lyell Centre encounter a deadly nerve agent, based on the Novichok poisonings in Salisbury which saw Sergei and Yulia Skripal rushed to hospital after coming into contact with it. Tonight’s instalment will see Jack Hodgson (played by David Caves) rushed to hospital after coming in contact with a victim. But will he make it?

In the final scene of last week’s episode, viewers watched as Dr Jack collapsed trying to help DS Vail (Adelle Leonce) after coming into contact with the deadly nerve agent.

She very sadly died before the ambulance was able to get to her in painful scenes, leaving Jack vulnerable.

Tonight will pick up with Jack in the back of an ambulance, struggling to catch his breath with a paramedic in a special hazmat suit screaming at him to stay alive.

Jack is in big trouble and will be left fighting for his life as the team scramble to help but it could come at a huge cost.

Dr Thomas Chamberlain star Richard Lintern opened up on the storyline and hinted one of the team at the Lyell Centre will died.

He explained: “I investigate someone’s house where someone has been murdered in a fairly brutal and bloody way.

“And it only becomes clear later on in the investigation that there’s a connection with the potential for there to have been a nerve agent involved.

“And various characters here get involved in the potential contamination with the nerve agent.”

With Jack having already come into contact with the nerve agent, do Richard’s comments mean he will be the one to die?

However, as Jack may not be the only one in danger as Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox), and Clarissa Mullery (Liz Carr) may also come into contact with the poison as they work to identify what’s put Jack in hospital.

Richard also teased viewers won’t find out who could perish until later in the episodes.

He teased: “It’s a specifically dangerous situation for forensic pathologists to be in, and one that you don’t necessarily identify straight away.
