Scared of the Dark viewers 'switch off' after just one episode as they brand Channel 4 show 'utter tripe' | The Sun

SCARED of the Dark viewers have 'switched off' the brand new show after just one episode, branding it 'utter tripe'.

The first episode of the show kicked off on Channel 4 last night with Danny Dyer presenting.

During the episode viewers were introduced to the celebrity lineup, which includes boxing legend Chris Eubank.

Scared of the Dark sees eight famous faces give up the limelight – and light completely.

The celebs have entered a bunker which they'll call home for a total of 180 hours as they face their worst fears.

Throughout their experience they'll be plunged into darkness with no access to natural light.

The full lineup includes Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt, Chris McCausland, Donna Preston, Chloe Burrows, Max George and Nicola Adams.

If they want to quit ahead of time, they must declare "I'm scared of the dark", with the winner being declared through a vote between the remaining celebs.

While the show's debut saw contestants tasked with grabbing their essential items in the dark, viewers' attention dwindled.

They took to social media to slam the show as 'utter trip' and declared they were switching off.
