Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) arrived to support her friend along with Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and Martin Fowler (James Bye).
Within moments, the foreman of the jury explained they had all reached the same decision, and then revealed to the court that both Matthew and Ross had been found guilty of rape.
As Matt reacted in horror, Ross gave Ruby an evil look as she smiled at the result.
Ruby later filmed a poignant message calling for more rape survivors to come forward.
‘Today, 12 people, just like me and you, they believed me,’ she said. ‘What I want to say is stand up. You might think this is the worse thing that’s ever happened to you is not. What’s worse is letting them get away with it.’
Meanwhile, Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) attended an STI clinic with her uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) following her own rape ordeal. In an important message alongside Ruby’s, she told Jack she didn’t feel she could come forward to report her rape.
She told him: ‘I’m doing what’s right for me’ as he tried to encourage her to make a statement. But will she change her mind and decide to face her attacker too?
