RICHARD Branson revealed 800 people have splashed out £236,000 on Virgin Galactic space flights.
The billionaire businessman, 68, is proving the sky is no longer the limit after offering the first tourist trip into space.
Speaking on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio, Richard dished: "It's going really well we've had two successful flights into space earlier in the year.
"We're moving to New Mexico for a couple more test flights then I'd love to go up, and we have a lot of people who'd love to go up so we'll start the whole programme."
Asked how much a ticket would set travellers back, he told Chris: "It's not cheap. It costs about $300,000 – 800 people have booked up to date."
But the Virgin founder admitted he's hoping to significantly lower the price by eventually building more spacecrafts.
He said: "I'd love to see 30 spaceships to be able to charge £25-30,000 rather than £300,000.
"I've always wanted to go to space – I also believe there are millions of people listening to this show who would also like to go.
"If we can get more and more spaceships we can bring the price down."
It was previously reported that up to 700 celebrities and scientists were desperate to get a chance to try the spacecraft – including Hollywood A-listers Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Lady Gaga, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Lucky ticket-holders will be launched more than 50 miles above Earth – the point at which NASA defines travellers as astronauts.
Passengers will ride aboard SpaceShipTwo, a spaceplane designed to carry six passengers and two pilots.
The craft will be carried by a large aeroplane before breaking away and zooming to an altitude of about 62 miles.
Last year, Professor Stephen Hawking unveiled Virgin Galactic's second SpaceShipTwo craft, called VSS Unity, after the first SpaceShipTwo craft VSS Enterprise crashed during tests in 2014.
Richard initially predicted the maiden space flight would launch by 2009, but the date was repeatedly pushed back after technical problems.
Chris Evans, 53, hosts the much-loved radio show every weekday morning from 6.30am, as well as Sundays at 10am.
