“You got some f–king nerve putting me in the f–king fish room!” Lu shouts as she storms out.
Wednesday’s episode of "The Real Housewives of New York" was full of drama, tears and one helluva start to a Berzerkshires trip.
Someone tell Dorinda Medley this house is simply not meant for those women.
(JK, we pray these vacations never end.)
But before we get into what went down at Blue Stone Manor, we need to fill you in on Bethenny Frankel‘s gut-wrenching meeting with a grief counselor to deal with the overdose and death of her on-off boyfriend, Dennis Shields.
Bethenny Gets Counseling
Bethenny had just started dating someone new, but she didn’t want to transfer the grief of losing Dennis onto this new relationship. She said it was nothing serious — that the man from Boston was simply "courting" her — but she still wanted to give a relationship with him a fair shot, so she called a grief counselor to come over to her house.
Bethenny started crying almost instantly. He calmed her down, and she explained that she didn’t know her "place" when it came to Dennis’ death. His ex-wife handled all the logistics (arrangements, bills, kids), leaving Bethenny feeling lost.
"I had to figure out where my place was at the funeral. I didn’t want to intrude," she said. "I didn’t feel like I had an identity in any of it, and I kept waking up in the middle of the night and asking my friends, ‘Is he really dead?’"
The counselor explained to Bethenny that dealing with a sudden death, like an overdose, is much different from dealing with a death caused by an illness. She choked up as she revealed she had tried to break things off with him a week prior to his passing.
"I could not get off the ride," she sobbed. "I feel guilty that the only way I got off the ride is that he’s dead. I hope that I didn’t have anything to do with him dying. But now, I feel better. And I feel guilty that I feel better."
"Dennis told me that if we didn’t work out, he was never gonna be in a relationship again, that he was gonna be alone for the rest of his life," she added. "It was a tremendous pressure, and it kept me in. I don’t know what happened that night, and I will always have to live with that."
Bethenny wasn’t sure if she should be dating, noting that she had been dating "before." (It’s unclear if she meant while she and Dennis were in limbo; they were constantly off and on.) Her counselor simply told her that "there is no road map for grief" and that finding love in another person would actually be honoring the feeling and the love Dennis gave to her.
Tinsley Gets Grilled About Scott
Later on, the ladies had lunch on Ramona Singer‘s friend’s yacht. While there, they grilled Tinsley Mortimer about her relationship with Scott, who still lives in Chicago. She said her mom was in town that weekend, so she told Scott not to come because she doesn’t like them in the same room together. Two years ago, Dale told Scott to wife up her daughter or "jump ship."
Bethenny led the grilling train, asking Tinsley how long they’d been together (two years), how old she was (43) and if she wanted kids (yes, she froze her eggs last year). Luann de Lesseps butted in to note she hadn’t heard the "L" word come out of Tinsley’s mouth.
But Tins assured her eager friends she did love Scott and that it was mutual. Apparently, he even showed her a picture of the engagement ring but hasn’t given it to her yet. Odd.
When Bethenny asked if Scott would "bolt with an ultimatum," Tinsley said he would — and that she wouldn’t give him one. The conversation turned into a "love yourself" pep talk that Tinsley might have actually needed. Everyone saw the red flags except for her.
Luann Throws a Tantrum at The Berzerkshires
After poor Tinsley survived the yacht interrogation, Dorinda invited all the ladies to her Berkshires home, including Luann, with whom she was trying to mend things. Of course, the house was completely decked out in Halloween decorations because Dorinda Medley is still No. 1 PTA mom. Lu asked Dorin if she’d have a yoga instructor come to the house. Dorinda said of course. She then asked Dorinda if she could arrange for massages. Dorinda obliged but was definitely peeved; however, she didn’t want to rock the boat.
Prior to Luann’s arrival, the ladies had already divvied up the rooms. Dorinda had already promised Bethenny she could stay in Hannah’s room (the best room in the house), which didn’t sit well with Ramona (shocker), but she let it go. Somehow, the ladies decided Luann would stay in the "fish room." You know exactly which room we’re talking about. It’s got fish on the walls, the walls are green, it’s iconic.
Anyway, Luann didn’t find out about the room arrangements until the ladies were all at dinner, and she was pissed. She started taking jabs at "Madame Bethenny" for always getting her way and told Dorinda she should have given the room to Luann, given how rocky their relationship has been.
"You got some f–king nerve putting me in the f–king fish room!" Lu shouted as she stormed out of the restaurant.
"The Real Housewives of New York" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
