The hotel heiress, 37, sobbed as she opened up about the explicit video that propelled her to fame.
Paris was filmed romping with her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon, who later released the tape as a porn movie called 1 Night in Paris in 2004.
The video went public just shortly after she made her debut in her first reality show The Simple Life in 2003 – and it was credited with raising her profile.
However, the socialite has always insisted she had nothing to do with the release.
She now confessed she felt violated by the tape, saying: ""It was like being raped."
Paris cried as she talked about what happened in Netflix documentary The American Meme.
She said: "Literally overnight my entire life changed."
Paris insisted the tape left her feeling too humiliated to leave home, adding: "Everyone was making fun of it.
"I didn’t leave my house for, like months. I was so embarrassed.
"I felt like everyone on the street was laughing at me.
"It was like being raped. It felt like I’ve lost part of my soul and been talked about in such cruel and mean ways."
After Paris initially condemned the release of the tape, her ex Rick sued her for defamation and she counter-sued over her claims she did not approve the video.
It ended up in an ugly legal battle which was eventually settled out of court in 2005.
The American Meme tells the story of social media influencers and features interviews with other stars including Hailey Baldwin, Emily Ratajkowski and DJ Khaled.
