New ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’ Shows a Talking Gummy Bear

The video prepares moviegoers for what could be the worst nightmare on Halloween as imagined in R. L. Stine’s books.

AceShowbiz – Beware of a gummy bear attack! Sony Pictures Entertainment has released a new trailer for “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween” that previews a night of terror in a small town of Wardenclyffe. It all begins when two boys, Sonny (Jeremy Ray Taylor) and Sam (Caleel Harris), find a manuscript called “Haunted Halloween” in an abandoned house, which was previously owned by R. L. Stine.

Unbeknown to them, the manuscript unleashes Slappy, the evil ventriloquist’s dummy, who plans to cause a Halloween Apocalypse with the help of his monster allies. Menacing gorilla and wolf, flying jack-o-lanterns and green-faced witches come to life, wreaking havoc in the city.

Even small cute gummy bears can be threatening and turn into killer monsters with their fangs. Now Sonny and Sam alongside Sonny’s sister Sarah (Madison Iseman) must work to thwart Slappy’s sinister plot before all is lost.

Wendi McLendon-Covey, Chris Parnell and Ken Jeong also star in the upcoming horror-comedy movie. Jack Black, who played Stine and voiced Slappy in the first movie, was initially expected to return, but the final script wrote off Black entirely. Avery Lee Jones was later tapped to replace Black as the voice of Slappy.

Ari Sandel directs the sequel to 2015’s “Goosebumps” from a script by Rod Lieber. Neal H. Moritz and Deborah Forte are producing, with Timothy M. Bourne and Tania Landau as executive producers.

The film is set to be unleashed in theaters across the nation on October 12.
