Netflix: Never Have I Ever final season preview
WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from Never Have I Ever season 4
The fourth and final instalment of Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher’s hit YA comedy-drama has landed on Netflix – and it’s made quite a splash, reaching number one on the streaming platform’s TV series chart.
Never Have I Ever season four concluded with hot-headed heroine Devi Vishwakumar (played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) getting into Princeton after a ropey moment where it looked like she’d completely missed out on a college place.
Also, Devi and Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison) finally ended up together after the usually acid-tongued teen travelled back to California from his law internship in New York to confess his love for her in a grand romantic gesture.
Just before the credits rolled for the final time, narrator and tennis legend John McEnroe signed off before adding “for now”.
The comment has left many Never Have I Ever fans perplexed and wondering about the future of the series.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, star Lewison addressed the comment: “It’s going to be disappointing. I can’t tell you anything because I know nothing.
“They have not told me of any plans for any part of a spin-off or the series to continue.
“I think they just kinda of left the door open just in case, maybe like in 10 or 15 years if we wanted to do some kind of a rom com film or something where we reprise the characters.”
Lewison, 22, went on to say: “If everyone decides to come back and Mindy and Lang have a script that they’ve written and they really love.

“But I don’t know, I don’t think that’s really a possibility for until the next 10 or 15 years.”
He continued: “If there was a spin-off, I think the entire cast and crew have agreed the team captain of the spin-off would be Trent. “Ben Norris is an absolute legend and if there’s a spin-off then that is our vote.”
Reflecting on appearing in a Never Have I Ever reunion down the line, the actor said: “I don’t know where I’ll be in 10 or 15 years or what my career looks like, but obviously Ben holds a very special place in my heart as does the show in general, and if that’s what’s on the cards and everyone agrees to come back, and there’s a script that Mindy and Lang have written then yeah, I wouldn’t say no.
“If everyone’s doing it, of course I’ll be in. Who knows what life will look like during that time?”
After starting off as a child actor appearing in Barney & Friends and Gymboree Presents, Never Have I Ever marked his big break.
Lewison is now looking towards the future and his next big project.
He said: “Right now, it’s just a lot of promotion for the final season for Never Have I Ever and then it’s about being picky.
“I’m a very picky person about the projects that I want to do next and there’s a lot of really great writers and directors that I’ve been tracking.”
Adding: “I’m excited to see what’s next. I’m a sucker for good writing and scripts. I know there’s so many good writers out there actively just crushing it right now, writing such incredible scripts and I’m excited to meet them.”
