Jessica Jones and The Punisher have been cancelled by Netflix.
The news comes following the streaming giant cancelling their fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe series Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
Netflix confirmed the news to The Verge , saying "Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix".
They also added that "in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel’s Jessica Jones .
"We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning."
The Punisher season 2 was recently released on Netflix but will now be the final run of the series centred on the vengeful assassin played by Jon Bernthal.
Meanwhile, Jessica Jones is due to return for season 3 but will be the only one of the series where we will know its the final batch of episodes before it drops.
The episodes will see the private investigator (Krysten Ritter) faced with a whole new challenge, but can she mend bridges with best friend Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor)?
It is unknown if any of the series or characters will be revived by Marvel Studios owners Disney on their new streaming platform Disney+, which is due to feature a Loki mini-series and series for Scarlet Witch, Falcon and Bucky.
Fans of the series had long expected the news of the cancellation in light of their sister series’ fates.
