Mick collapses during a showdown with Stuart in EastEnders

With Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda (Kellie Bright) having been informed that Ollie’s autism assessment could be months away, emotions have certainly been running high in the Carter household in EastEnders. As a result, Mick has found himself under immense pressure — and things are set to escalate in the coming episodes, as the Queen Vic landlord collapses once more following an altercation with Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ).

From framing Mick for his shooting, to trying it on with Linda while Mick rotted in prison, its safe to say that Stuart made the Carters’ lives a living hell last year. In spite of his heinous actions, he’s developed rather dramatically over the past few months, and has proven himself incredibly loyal to both Rainie (Tanya Franks) and Bex (Jasmine Armfield).

What with him now being a changed man, he’s hoping that Mick will forgive him for everything he put him through and, as a result, he confronts the Queen Vic landlord, and pleads with him to give him another chance.

However, as Stuart relays his feelings, he’s unaware of the fact that Mick is struggling to breathe. Believing the Carter patriatch’s silence to be an indication of his unwillingness to move forward, Stuart leaves and, before long, Mick collapses.

Left with no other option, Mick calls out for Stuart, hoping that he’ll come to his rescue. His plan works, as Stuart returns, and is shocked to find Mick on the floor struggling to breathe. Before long, Stuart calls an ambulance — but will it be too late?

Later, Linda worries about Mick, as she’s unable to locate him.

Is Mick’s life in danger?

Moreover, if Mick manages to pull through, will he see Stuart in a whole new light?

One to watch: Friday 16th August at 8pm on BBC One.
