Michelle Keegan reveals Our Girl could be axed after admitting series 4 hasn’t yet been confirmed by the BBC

The actress has won huge praise for her role as feisty Army medic lance corporal Georgie Lane in the hit drama, but fears the show could come to an end.

The series finale in July ended on a cliffhanger with her character under fire, after striking up a potential romance with captain Charles James, played by heart-throb Ben Aldridge.

But it's still up in the air as to whether the show will return for a fourth series.

Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday today Michelle said: "We don't know yet if we will do another series. It's not been confirmed. I know there are talks, but I'll have to wait and see.

"It would be great for it to come back. The writer is so talented, so I know he'd come up with some great storylines."

Talking about the ending of series three, she said: "The ending was a real talking point because the plot was literally left on a cliffhanger. But if it doesn't come back then I think the storyline was left at a nice place."

Our Girl has been a ratings hit for the BBC since it launched five years ago with Lacey Turner in the lead role and Michelle taking over as leading lady in 2016.

The BBC are yet to confirm if the show will continue, with Michelle really hoping it will.

She said: "I'm still loving every minute of it. I feel so lucky to be part of it. It's amazing to see how well Our Girl is doing and how big it has become."

Of course, the role extension would mean more time apart for her and hubby Mark Wright, who has been presenting for Extra TV in LA.

Speaking about filming away from home, Michelle said: “I get homesick and I miss my family.

“Luckily we get FaceTime now, so that helps massively.

“But when I go through experiences in my life, even when I was doing Our Girl, I was thinking the whole time, ‘I wish I could show my mum and dad where I am.’ ”

After filming the show in South Africa and Malaysia, Michelle has a good idea of where she would like the next series to go.

She said: “It would be nice to film in Barbados. I highly doubt it, but I can dream.”
