Love Island’s Samira Mighty would love a judging spot on Strictly Come Dancing or Britain’s Got Talent thanks to her background in theatre.
Samira, who recently split from Frankie Foster who she met on the ITV2 dating show, has previously appeared in West End shows such as Dreamgirls and a live stage version of Beauty and the Beast.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Samira said: “You know what, I’d love to be a judge on Strictly or Britain’s Got Talent because I’ve already been in that industry of musical theatre, dance.
“I actually know what I’m talking about, I’m not saying that some judges don’t, but I’m actually trained in it, even though I am young.”
Samira revealed that auditioned for a presenting role at MTV, but unfortunately it didn’t pan out.
She explained: “I think certain shows want bigger celebrities to do presenting as their job, and that’s totally fair enough, hopefully I can get to that stage one day.
“Sometimes they decide they want to go live and they don’t want to use someone who’s fresh to the presenting, they want to use someone who’s a bit more experienced.”
If the presenting work doesn’t pan out, Samira’s also looking to focus on her music career. Having spent time covering pop hits on YouTube way before her time on Love Island, she’s compared her musical style to popstar Anne-Marie.
“I really want to start writing music again and singing stuff like that. And maybe dancing a little bit more for my videos for Instagram and stuff like that,” said Samira.
“I like to sing covers and change it up a little bit, but just a different style. I mean I would love to collaborate with anyone, but definitely [go] solo for the start.”
Meanwhile Strictly Come Dancing’s head judge Shirley Ballas has backed the idea of same-sex couples dancing together, despite the BBC ruling it out for this year’s series.
The show has also revealed its entire celebrity line-up for 2018, including This Morning‘s Dr Ranj, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and Blue singer turned EastEnders star Lee Ryan.
Samira is working as an ambassador for the Job Today app, which is helping hundreds of thousands of young people find their first job.
Speaking about the partnership, she said: “I wish Job Today was around when I was starting out, I had loads of part time jobs inbetween theatre work and this just takes the stress out of looking.”
