Love Island fans mock ‘diverse’ line up where no one is older than 25 – The Sun

LOVE Island fans are gearing up for the first ever winter series of the popular dating show, but it seems they're not so keen on the contestants.

Viewers of the show have been poking fun at this year's hopefuls after they were revealed by ITV2 on Monday.

Taking to Reddit, many people mocked the so-called diversity of the show and focused mainly on the age of the men and women looking for love.

"Age range is disappointing this season," one person wrote.

"It ranges from 20-25. That’s tragic. I wonder if they’ll throw a lot of older women in as time goes on since in the last season they’ve brought plenty of drama to the villa (Maura, Anna and Arabella)."

A second person added: "I'm 22 and I already feel old seeing how young some contestants are (18-20)."

However, some viewers were keen to point out that the target audience for the reality show is young.

"I'm pretty sure the main demographic is like 16-25," one person wrote, while another said: "I

think a lot of young viewers would be put off with all older contestants as it’s not relatable for them.

"People 16-25 on average don’t want to watch a bunch of 30 year olds hooking up. And that’s the target audience for the show."

A third person defended the line-up- and wrote: "Better this than having the one 29 year old get rejected by everyone and booted off in week 2 like what usually happens."

The cast for the upcoming series was unveiled on Monday, and it seems the blonde twins will be stealing the limelight this year.

VIP hostesses Eve and Jess Gale, 20, lead the sexy line-up which includes a copper for the first time, Lewis Capaldi’s stunning ex Paige Turley, 22, Rochelle Hume's sister Sophie Piper, 21, and a toff who calls himself The Lord of Lanhydrock.
