Line of Duty series 5 starts filming as cast reunite for first picture

Line of Duty seems to have officially kicked off filming for series 5.

The cast, including Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston have reunited for a group photo… and look pretty pleased to be back together.

While most of the details on the next batch of episodes from writer Jed Mercurio are understandably under wraps, we’ve had little titbits here and there.

Most recently, Compston shared an image of the script’s cover page, teasing on Instagram: “Even better on second read. Mr Mercurio has done it again. Gonna be some ride can’t wait to pull the waistcoat on again.”

He also revealed back in May that filming would begin in September (which is only a few days away now), so the timing does line up.

“Hopefully, I survive it… you never know,” he joked.

However, he added that if Mercurio decided to kill off Steve Arnott, he’d “be gutted to go but… you’ve got to trust [Jed]”.

There are also rumours swirling that Stephen Graham is being lined up as the big bad for series 5, though this is yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Claudia Jessie (Amelia Sedley) was remaining tight-lipped when asked about series 5 and returning by Digital Spy recently.

Line of Duty is due to return to BBC One in 2019.
