Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen wouldn't work with Meghan Markle because she's 'beige'

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has gone and put his foot in it again by calling The Duchess of Sussex ‘beige.’

When appearing on Loose Women, the panellists couldn’t help but bring up the comment he made about Meghan Markle’s dress sense when he called the new mother ‘dull.’

But, instead of explaining what he meant, it seems the designer just went ahead and insulted the royal once again.

Laughing off his previous comment, Laurence told the host Janet Street-Porter: ‘Now I would like to spring to my own defense.

‘I was trying to break it to everyone gently that I don’t want to [design] Frogmore Cottage.’

Talking about the former actress, the father-of-two added: ‘She’s a lovely lady, but I don’t want to.

‘I think she has a strong sense of her own style – but it’s a bit beige for me.’

It was recently revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan had chosen Vicky Charles to decorate their new home – not Laurence – and when asked about their choice by News Corp, he sure didn’t hold back.

‘Meghan is far too dull, she’d run screaming from me,’ he told the publication.

The star explained: ‘My only hope for a proper, decent royal commission is when we get a Queen Camilla.

‘She’s just over the garden fence and I’m very much hoping for a royal command.’

Expanding a bit more on what he’d design for Camilla when joining the Loose Women on today’s show, he added: ‘I think something that’s Elvis’ jungle room.’

We’re sure she’d love that!

And it seems Laurence has his eye on another royal as he joked about setting up his grandson with Princess Charlotte.

Talking about the little one, the proud granddad said: ‘I adore him, and having brought up daughters to have a grandson is incredible.

‘I was trying to persuade him the other day how pretty princess Charlotte was,’ Laurence laughed.
