Lauren, 25, who won silver at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in the paratriathlon, follows fellow athlete Jonnie Peacock who competed last year.
The star, who was born without a complete right arm, won a silver medal at the Rio 2016 games in the paratriathlon.
Lauren was unveiled as the show’s latest signing tonight on The One Show by presenters Alex Jones and Matt Baker.
She is the 13th contestant to be revealed ahead of the launch show on August 31.
Lauren said she has kept the exciting news from her 97-year-old nan and her sister who is a huge fan of Strictly.
She said: "I am a bit nervous, but I think you can revert back to dad dancing if it all goes wrong."
Lauren revealed she won't use a prosthetic on the show because she fears it will fly off during a spin.
The Paralympian said she's focusing on the world championships right now, but has her eye on the Strictly Glitterball.
Earlier in the day former Blue singer Lee Ryan, 35, was confirmed for the BBC series.
The final name of the line-up, labelled disappointing by fans due a lack of big names, will be unveiled tomorrow.
Lauren will join TV personality Katie Piper, ex-Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts, Steps' Faye Tozer, cricketer Graeme Swann, Red Dward star Danny John Jules, YouTube's Joe Sugg, Capital DJ Vick Hope, This Morning's TV doctor Ranj Singh, TV star Stacey Dooley and comedian Sean Walsh, newsreader Kate Silverton and ex-Blue singer Lee Ryan.
TV fashion stylist Susannah Constantine is also expected to be named by the Beeb this week.
Strictly broke ground last year when sprinter Jonnie, who lost his leg to meningitis as a five-year-old, became the first amputee paralympian to compete on the BBC1 show.
Partnered with professional dancer Oti Mabuse, they were the eighth couple to be eliminated, at the show in Blackpool.
