However the former glamour model’s pals said she was upset to find out that the application for a “porch, ramp and steps” have been rejected.
Owner Paul Kelly told The Sun Online: “I have disabled customers who cannot access the public house.
“This is discriminating against my customers and I wish for everybody to be able to access Ma Kelly’s showboat.”
It’s believed the plans were rejected by the council because of the possible “noise and disturbance” that the new entrance, which would have had the porch, ramp and steps built in, could possibly cause to an adjacent hotel.
Katie was informed of the decision and was said to be fully backing Paul.
A friend of explained: “She’s really upset to hear about this and will be supporting Paul in any way she can.
“Katie’s son Harvey is disabled and she knows how difficult life can be for people who struggle with disability and aren’t able bodied.”
The mum-of-five was recently seen partying at the bar with pals.
She even had a go at working as a barmaid and was spotted pulling pints behind the bar.
Katie is currently in Scotland on a “make or break” holiday with her boyfriend Kris Boyson.
