The actress, 45, and Jack, 30 were pictured in a passionate embrace before they retired to a £2,000 a night hotel in LA on Friday.
Last night the actress broke her silence on social media and posted a selfie that she captioned on Instagram: "Don’t even attempt to f*** with me I’ve just correctly diagnosed a family member with a double stye and I’m suddenly getting a lot of texts about chickens."
Her quirky comment failed to distract fans from her bulging curtains and they smelled a rat.
One said: "Are you hiding behind the curtain @jackwhitehall?"
Another said: "Those curtains look perfect to hide behind!" and another asked the Hollywood siren: "What are you hiding behind the curtains?"
Another commented: "Jack is batting way way way way way way way above, well played though, Jack you lucky bugger."
While another bemused fan said: "Who is jack?" and one fan of the movie Titanic said: "I see a new Kate and Jack on the horizon."
The pair were snapped on Friday night at the restaurant Craig’s, a popular celeb hangout in Hollywood, before leaving separately in a bid to avoid being spotted.
Jack left first and walked two blocks away before being picked up by the Pearl Harbor actress, 45, in her SUV.
She drove them to the Blind Dragon karaoke lounge, where the Travels With My Father star put his arm around Kate — voted Esquire magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive in 2009 — and pulled her in for a passionate embrace.
In the early hours of the morning, teetotal Kate, who was dressed in skimpy shorts, lacy tights and thigh-high boots, was snapped entering The London Hotel with Jack.
The funnyman, who was dressed down in chinos and trainers, has previously confessed that sex gives him heartburn.
Two months ago Kate, a divorced mother of one, was pictured with her on-off American toyboy Matt Rife, 23.
An onlooker said: “No one would expect someone like Jack to bag one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. You couldn't get a more unlikely romance.
“They were like a pair of loved-up teenagers and weren’t trying to hide their feelings. They were practically sitting on top of each other in the booth of the nightclub and were laughing with each other.
"Kate rested her hand on Jack’s shoulder and she kept laughing and smiling at his jokes … Then he decided to put his hand around the back of Kate’s neck and pulled her across him, where they started to passionately kiss."
