Karen Clifton puts on a united front with estranged husband Kevin as they dance together at Strictly launch

The Strictly Come Dancing professionals – who confirmed in March that they were set to split after two years of marriage – shared a sexy routine.

Karen, wearing a skimpy sequinned bra, tiny beaded shorts and lace-up black boots flung her arm around him as she leant back into a pose.

Kevin, all in black, wrapped his arm around her waist to support her.

He instigated the split after Karen had a fling with accountant Stuart Wood, 27, last winter.

Last week he ditched her from his own 2019 tour.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: "They tried hard to keep dancing together but it simply didn’t work.

"So Kevin took the decision to go off touring on his own."

However, the pair will have to try and keep things cordial – they've both signed up for the new series of Strictly, which kicks off next month.

Kevin, 35, and Karen, 36, went on tour together earlier this year – and Karen admitted it wasn't easy.

Speaking about how they were making it work before they started their nationwide tour, Karen confessed it wasn’t all plain sailing.

She said: “We're very focused on what we love to do – dance has always been a big part of our lives and a big part of our relationship.

“Some other couples would find it very hard but we've always worked really well together so it has never been an issue.

"Of course, it's not happy days all the time – but most of the time we are very focused on what we do.

“You put your egos aside, you put everything aside – it's a clean sheet.”

However, The Sun Online exclusively revealed Karen hasn't ruled out a reconciliation in the future.

She told us: “It’s easier to hide than be open about things, but nothing has to crumble right away, sometimes people need time to heal and reflect what it is we need to do."

Karen added: "Anything can happen."

But before fans get too excited Karen previously said she'd be happy for Kevin to find love.

She said: "I'd be OK if Kevin started dating.

"It's one of those things where if he's happy, I'm happy. You don't need to have drama, you don't need any negativity and you just need the same mindset and the same goal."
