Excited fans of the John Lewis Christmas advert are dying to see this year’s festive offering.
But they may have just been given a sneak preview in this teaser video.
A clip posted online has left fans convinced that the theme and song has been leaked – and that Elton John is the star of the show.
It begins with the camera zoomed in close on a Christmas tree and focused on one particular ornament, an astronaut encircled in silver rings.
As the camera pans down, Sir Elton’s Rocket Man is being played on the piano.
Sharing it on Twitter, one eager fan said: "AHHHH!!!! This has got to mean elton! Christmas is officially here!!!"
The supposed leak comes after reports that Sir Elton was being paid £5 million to appear in this year’s advert.
The annual ad has a huge budget of £10 million, meaning half of it would be set aside for the singer.
But sadly, John Lewis bosses told the Standard that this isn’t a clip from their 2018 advert, meaning we’ll have to wait even longer to find out what it is.
Sources close to the production have already revealed that it’s a real "tearjerker" and told the Mail On Sunday that the mini movie would chart the course of the singer’s life.
"It is all very, very charming and the exciting crescendo at the end will be Elton playing his famous piano," the insider claimed.
It’s said that the ad was filmed at Pinewood Studios over four days, but a spokesperson for the department store said they weren’t releasing any details of the ad or when it can be seen on TV in the UK.
It will follow last year’s Moz the Monster.
John Lewis started making their special Christmas adverts in 2007.
They’ve made some very memorable ones, such as those telling the stories of the Man on the Moon, Monty the Penguin and Buster the Boxer.
