Never mind John Barrowman battling crocodiles on the main show, Joel Dommett was the true hero on Wednesday (November 21) when he bravely made his return to I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.
The co-host of the I’m a Celebrity post-show was sidelined on Tuesday (November 20) during rehearsals when windy weather caused part of the set to crash onto his head, sending him to hospital.
Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash carried on without him on Tuesday, but Joel was able to make a triumphant comeback to Extra Camp one night later after a little TLC (including catching up on Neighbours).
After opening the episode with a bandage on his head, co-host Joe Swash complained to Joel: “Come on Joel, we all know you got a knock on the head.”
“I was a very brave soldier,” Joel joked.
After the opening titles, Dec Donnelly and Holly Willoughby arrived on set to join the panel for their nightly debrief, but their pressing concern was for Joel.
“I’m okay, guys,” he assured them. “To be fair, the doctor said I didn’t need this [bandage] anymore. I’m just doing this for attention.”
Joel remained in pretty good spirits throughout the injury, even taking a selfie while getting stitches in his head in order to update fans on his condition on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won’t be able to present Extra Camp this evening. I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow. To be honest I’m less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me.
