Jed Wyatt hasn’t been the most popular figure in The Bachelorette franchise since Hannah Brown called off their engagement after learning her season winner had come on the show with a girlfriend.
As soon as Wyatt’s former love interest, Haley Stevens, came forward sharing the details of their relationship, Wyatt started receiving some pretty nasty comments on his Instagram page.
“People get on their phones or they get on their computers and they start to pour out their thoughts and their feelings, and they don’t really take into account that people that go on these shows are as real as they are. And that their words do affect them,” he said in a recent interview with LAnded Late Night.
Jed Wyatt’s Instagram has become plagued with negative comments
Wyatt says, sometimes, he can’t help but read the negative comments.
“You do get curious. Everyone wants to feel like they did something right. In the midst of all the hate, it is nice to see someone stand up and say something positive. In the midst of searching for the positivity, you see the negative things,” he told LAnded Late Night host Haley Ringo.
Wyatt will be the first person to admit that he’s not perfect. As Bachelor Nation knows, Wyatt took plenty of shots at Luke Parker all season, and even has on Twitter post-season.
“People get a little bit of fulfillment out of it. And it’s kind of gross that that’s a thing. I’ve taken shots at Luke P. on Twitter. It’s an easy thign to do to get a split second of like people thinking you’re funny or just getting likes, whatever it is, to be relevant, and they’re just not taking into account how much it can really affect someone,” he said.

Wyatt thinks that, ultimately, bullying someone online is just as bad as the mistakes he made with Brown and Stevens.
“Who are we to judge anyone’s mistakes? Yeah we can have our opinions and your can have your judgements but being really publically open with them I guess–we’re not really allowed to cast our judgement on people, that’s not something God wants us to do. I’ll be the first to say I’ve done it but it’s not right. It’s no more right than the mistakes that I made,” he said.
Jed Wyatt thinks everyone needs to move on–’Don’t let me ruin your day’

Wyatt feels he’s said all he can say. He promises to work at becoming “an all around better person.” But he also feels like his criticizers should move on because they’re only hurting themselves.
“I do feel like I’ve said my sorrys because I truly am. I’m very remorseful about it all. But enough is enough. I know that there’s been times in my life where I’ve been upset with somebody that apologized to me a lot and I was just like ‘don’t let it go, don’t let it go, don’t let it go,’ and that ends up hurting me. I don’t know how to say it. Don’t let me ruin your day, move on. If you don’t have anything nice to say then go do whatever you do. I’m obviously hurt and moving through this and working through it and there’s not really much more that I can say. I am sorry, I’ve said that. I can’t really go into it anymore than I have,” he said.
