James and Harry split as he defends Hollyoaks rapist Laurie?

A wedge may be coming between James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) as Laurie Shelby (Kyle Pryor) continues to deny he raped wife Sinead (Stephanie Davis) in Hollyoaks this week.

As Sinead prepares to recall the horrendous attack, James and Harry will descend into their own issues.

James angers his boyfriend in this week’s episodes when he decides to represent accused rapist Laurie, and be his lawyer.

It seems James who is much more driven by money and his career fails to support Harry’s family in their time of need as he is determined to get his client out of prison.

What will it mean for their relationship?

The pair have had a touch and go time of it, having got back together at the beginning of the year when James invited Harry to move in, only for him to immediately take that invite back.

He later told Harry he wanted to focus on his son rather than a relationship and once again put them on ice.

While they managed to get things back together again, now James’ disloyalty may prove to be a deal breaker for Harry who has been put through the wringer.

Stephanie opened up on filming the difficult scenes, with the aftermath primed to be just as hard for the characters to deal.

Speaking about their friends’ reaction to her allegation against Laurie, she said it’s a shock for them as Laurie has managed to manipulate everyone in their circle – including James?

‘It’s a big shock because Laurie didn’t just manipulate Sinead, he manipulated everyone around him. As Sinead comes out with it, they’re just shocked and in disbelief,’ Stephanie said.

‘Diane and Tony are trying to listen to what Sinead is saying and they can see what state she’s in and of course they’re going to believe what she’s saying. I think it’s just total shock and mayhem.’

Hollyoaks airs Fridays on E4.
