EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has revealed that she ‘would love to go back’ to the BBC One soap at some point.
The actress — who portrayed Lauren Branning in the long-running serial drama — told the MailOnline: ‘I absolutely love EastEnders, love the people, the production and I absolutely love Lauren Branning with all my heart.’
‘It doesn’t feel like it was a goodbye forever, definitely not, well not from my end anyway. I would love to go back someday.’
‘I could hobble back in on my walking stick one day.’
When asked if she would return in less than five years, Jacqueline added: ‘I think that sounds better than me going back tomorrow, yes.’
Last we saw Lauren, she left boyfriend Josh Hemmings (Eddie Eyre) at the graveyard, as she and little Louis departed following the death of her sister Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) — who fell from the roof of the Queen Vic during the 2017 Christmas period.
EastEnders was the first soap to shut down production amid the Coronavirus pandemic, and — in an effort to ensure it remained on screens for as long as possible — the decision was made to reduce weekly episodes from four to two.

Jacqueline recently spoke to Metro.co.uk about the shutdown, saying: ‘As soon as I knew EastEnders had stopped filming, that’s when I knew that this coronavirus was actually serious, and that we were all going to go on lockdown,’ she told us. ‘As soon as I heard that, I thought, “Woah!”
‘I could never imagine EastEnders to stop filming, it’s never really happened before.
EastEnders continues Monday 27 April at 8pm on BBC One.
