CHLOE Madeley is not shy when it comes to wowing fans with sexy shoots and striking workout snaps.
In fact, the 33-year-old says she has “no shame” having grown up with her presenter parents Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan and their on-screen controversies.
One moment in particular that helped her learn to shrug off embarrassment was when Judy’s dress slipped down as she and Richard accepted a gong at the 2000 National Television Awards.
Host John Leslie had to step in to cover her up.
In an exclusive chat, Chloe told The Sun on Sunday: “I was 13 when it happened.
“My older brother was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, no’, obviously having a complete meltdown.
“I thought, ‘Thank God for John’, as obviously we knew him as a family.
“Then I saw her and she was laughing and I was like, ‘OK, she’s fine’. All I cared about was her.
“I didn’t give two s**ts, but I cared about her.
“And then as soon as they got off stage, I called them immediately. I said, ‘Are you OK, just tell me you’re OK’.
“And she was like, ‘Oh, it’s fine. It’s funny. Thank God I was wearing a bra. Imagine if I hadn’t been’.
“Being in the public eye, if you can’t laugh at yourself, you’re gonna hate every second of it.
“I’ve generally got no shame. I really like doing sexy shoots, I love just prancing around in my underwear.
“And I’ve learned from my parents not to take myself too seriously.”
It is an attitude Chloe, who is married to former Wasps and England rugby union player James Haskell, 35, applies to her body shape too, as she reveals she has put on weight during the lockdowns.
Also known for workout videos and an athletic figure, Chloe has launched new book Eating For Results with online cooking videos to help people get into shape during the New Year.
Chloe, who offers regular sex and relationship advice in The Sun, says: “I’ve gone up two dress sizes. And I mean, there is not a muscle in sight.
“It’s there, but it’s underneath a layer of fat. And James loves it, he’s having the time of his life.
“He can fetishise pretty much everything and anything. He’s like, ‘I love this. You look amazing. This is great’.”
Last month we reported that the couple were in talks with the controversial adult site OnlyFans — used by Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson, 26, and ex-EastEnder Danniella Westbrook, 47 — to share racy pictures and boost their social media follower numbers.
But talking about that for the first time, Chloe revealed there would be no nudity if she did sign up to it.
She says: “I’ve told them I need a risqué-proof brief if I were to consider it.
BOLOGNESE IN THE BUFF
“There is a new wave of people coming through OnlyFans who are doing kind of workout videos and cook-alongs, much like I’m doing on Instagram.
“It could be that OnlyFans is kind of moving away from its risqué reputation.
“So I won’t be cooking Bolognese in the buff, that just won’t happen.”
Former TV presenter Chloe may appear comfortable in most situations, but she admits that getting in front of the camera causes her anxiety.
It is something she shares with mum Judy, 72, who she says would lock herself in the toilet for hours before presenting ITV’s This Morning in the Eighties and Nineties with husband Richard, 64.
She says: “My mum is so sweet but suffers terrible anxiety. My dad is just, from my perspective, one of the kindest, funniest, most generous of men. Is there a bit of Alan Partridge about him? Maybe.
“On the surface, I’m probably more like my dad. I think I talk more like my dad, I gesticulate a lot. I’m quite brash, I don’t really have a filter. So that’s all my dad.
“I would say the fact I have suffered with anxiety quite badly, I do need to keep an eye on my emotions and make sure I’m not going down a negative path. A lot of my family are quite susceptible to depression and depressive tendencies and I have to really monitor myself every day and work on myself.
“But despite doing lots of in-front-of-camera stuff, it makes me feel extremely uncomfortable.
“I do get the irony. I get extreme anxiety and my mouth gets really dry. I find it very hard to articulate myself.
“If it’s a photoshoot, it’s a very controlled environment. I’m in control. There’s nothing scary about it.
“But when you’re live, that genuinely terrifies me to my core.”
At least having TV presenting royalty for parents means she has people to turn to for advice.
And Richard, who once dressed up as Sacha Baron Cohen’s character Ali G on This Morning, now gives her tips on her presenting style.
She says: “My dad listened to one of my podcasts the other day and said, ‘You’re such a natural broadcaster’.
“I told him I get terrified, and he was like, ‘You don’t sound terrified’. So that’s good.”
The family, which includes brother Jack, 34, have a close bond and Chloe says in Covid-free times one of her favourite things is to have Sunday lunch with her mum, dad and husband James.
She says: “We have a great time. My mum is one of those people that doesn’t say a lot. But when she says something, it’s worth saying, and it’s usually comedy genius.
"She has us all in stitches. She’s hilarious. My dad does most of the storytelling.
“James only talks when somebody asks him a question or asks him to tell a story.
“Then he peacocks and comes to the fore. I just usually sit there laughing and drinking wine, having the time of my life.”
So does Chloe want to start a family of her own? She recently claimed that getting a dog meant “our family is full” but has not ruled out having children in a couple of years.
Chloe says: “Having a dog has definitely made me think a bit more compassionately. The idea of throwing a baby into the mix is completely overwhelming and makes me feel a bit dizzy.
"But I do think at some point having had the dog is making me think a bit more about that, like that kind of bond which I think I would quite like to have.
“So I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.”
